Smiling Moon

Last nite was the most beautiful "moon". "Bulan senyum" or "smiling moon" is a very unique phenomenon. At first I thought the two eyes were satellites, but in reality there are planets.

I remember a friend once said to me. "Look at the moon, we are looking at the same moon. Whenever you are looking at the moon, you are looking at me". Within few days, another friend also said almost the same thing. What is it "man" with "moon"? Everybody looks at the moon, but do we really look at it? To me the moon shows loyalty. I remember when I was young, travelling in a car driven by my late father, I always thought the moon kept following us. Why? That was always the question I asked my parents. Neither of them gave a definite answer.

By the way, this photo was taken from the on-line newspaper Berita Harian. It was reported that this phenomenon happens every five years... to me this is the first time it happened.

Dinner & Dance?

What is a dinner without a dance? hmm.... I always go to a dinner with dance... well, you can't do that in a dinner organised by IIUM. Nak kena.....

The dinner last night was the shortest one I've ever attended. Normally dinner ended at 11 p.m. or later and follow up with dance. I kind of miss it. It's been a while since the last time I go to a dinner & dance or party for that matter, nowadays, it's only just dinner.

Apart from nice formal dinners organised by the army (during my late father's lifetime), one of the best dinner I've ever attended was organised by the Negeri Sembilan State Bar Committee, where I was also involved in the Social Sub-
Committee organising the event. The patron was the Regent of Negeri Sembilan. The Regent and his lovely wife were the first on the dance floor and later followed by Mr. Edmund Ponniah and myself as dancing partners that night.
I just wonder, when will be the next dinner and dance. I kind of bored if it's just dinner....

24th IIUM Convocation

Yesterday was my convocation. I arrived late at 3.30 pm. The event started much earlier. I thought I could never make it to UIA. It was a massive traffic jam!!!! I've been cursing and cursing throughout the whole journey to UIA.... huh! Lucky thing it was my 4th convocation in my life. Otherwise, I'm really going to cry!!!! Well, everything happen with a reason and for a reason. I'm sure there's always a blessing in disguise for everything that had happened in my life. Like Azman said during the dinner last night, he said I should also feel how to be late comers since I'm always early in class.

Looking back, I always wonder what would happen if I decided to take only 2 subjects per semester instead of 4 subjects. If that was really my decision, i would not have graduated yesterday. I would have to wait until next year. Arrgghhh... too long... it's been two years anyway, studying in IIUM, taking Postgraduate Diploma and Master. It was really a nice and expensive experience throughout.
I enjoyed myself the whole two years studying in IIUM. Although I did it part-timely, I make full use of my time there. In fact, I do miss going to class on Saturdays. Now I have to make myself busy during the weekend.

Collection of Robe

I've managed to collect the robe for the convocation yesterday. It was such a hassle when we had to fill in the Tracer Forms. The university should improvise and have a simpler process. We (Shafini, Gun and I) had coffee with Ben. I was a bit surprise to see Azhar. I thought he was going to collect his robe during the weekday since he is yet to do his clearance. Shafini, Gun, Khairul, Azhar and myself later had satay for lunch.

Preparation for Convocation

Why does the university makes it hard for us to attend the convocation. There are so many things to do prior to the event such as Tracer Forms. I got so fed up with the procedures. Comparatively, it was so easy during my first degree in UK

Happy Birthday Haziq!

Haziq celebrated his 9th birthday on 1st August 2008.

Visit to Kota Kinabalu

It was raining when we reached Kota Kinabalu. It was Friday, 25 July 2008, 10.00 p.m. Haziq was so excited throughout since it was his first time flight experience. I've informed my brother, Helmi that we only to be staying for only 6 days. Well.... it was a short break. It wasn't really a planned vacation. Helmi's wife just give birth and the baby is almost a month's old, and mak couldn't wait to see the newborn. Heidi, that's her name.

For me it was my first experience taking the Air Asia. I don't really like it. I prefer MAS. However the flight fare for MAS is too expensive and we couldn't spend more than what is necessary. For 3 people, we spent about RM800++, which is still reasonable.
The next day we went to Tanjung Aru. It was really windy, I think you can really surf! Haha.... Ombak actually tak cukup besar untuk surfing.

On Sunday, it was quite hot. We went to Karambunai to see the beach. Wow!!! It was beautiful. I was told that the waves are much bigger than the one in Tanjung Aru. I can see a lot of Mat Sallehs... am sure they do surf.... not so much of big wave eh???!!!
The very next day, I went out with mak and Helmi to the market. We dropped by at the Pasar Kraftangan. Spent a lot on souveniers (...is it the correct spelling? "souvenier".... dont bother to check the spelling). Later, I went out with Ar. Mahmud Nazmi and we visited Universiti Malaysia Sabah. I was amazed by the way the students behave.... wow.... the men wear ties to class (just like students in UUM) and they all look so innocent!
Overall it was quite an experience and a nice short holiday!

Durian! oh Durian!

Now it's musim durian. You can see durian being sold everywhere. Frankly, I never like durian before as I love it now. It all changed when I was pregnant. Hmm.... durian has always been one of my favourite ever since

Made of Honor

I've been reading novels for past one month. After struggling to download 'torrent', being taught by Mukarrami, I've managed to download movies from the internet. The first movie, 'Made of Honor', a usual normal romantic comedy, usual scenario, which I still find it enjoyable.

Made of Honor, a movie about man & woman, being best friends for 10 years, enjoying each other company, confidant & confidante, just like Julia Roberts in 'My Best Friend's Wedding'. No new things in Made of Honor, but what it potrayed is the things that people never see it in reality.

Can a man be a woman's best friend and vice versa?

Sometimes I wonder why I'm so comfortable hanging out with guys. I am the only girl in siblings of three. I rarely go out but my brothers' friends always came to the house and talked to me. I suppose that influenced my way of being friends with men. Initially, I found it difficult to mix around with girls when I was in boarding school. I hate to see a lot of girls at the hostel, and I knew back then I don't like it being in the hostel because there are a lot of girls. I like to be in class where there are still boys around. I found it easier to hang out with them.. am I weird?

Car

I don't like to drive. I drive when it's really necessary. On the other hand, I love cars. I remember when I was about 7 years old, I told my mom that I want to buy a red car. I never did. None of my cars is red. Mostly green or gray. Nissan Sylphy, like the one in the picture has attracted my eyes, but it's too expensive. I've read the preview. It seems that Nissan has launched it’s Nissan Bluebird Sylphy mid-sized luxury in Japan, targetted at today’s executive woman, focusing on hospitality and care in mind. Its interior and exterior styling has been suited to a lady’s tastes. The interior has a ’super console’ with 9.7 liters of storage space - large enough to store a large handbag, drink bottles, cellphones and a few CDs. Wow! Although the car targetted at ladies, but I think it suits the male drive as well. Regardless of gender, the price still doesn't suite my pocket. Well... I can't afford to buy another car at the moment. Not even to buy a second hand Hyundai Getz. Have to put that thoughts on hold. Need to pay the current loan on my waja.

Fire Drill

The JKR staffs at the headquarter had fire drill on Thursday as early as 9.00 a.m. I was told that there was never a fire drill for the past 22 years!!. Wow! Imagine that!

Hmmm...... I was informed of the fire drill a week before that. A day before, the Maintenance Staff told me that the fire drill would start at 9.00 a.m. Well.... i don't want to walk down using the stair case 17 storeys... phew!... had that experience so many time when the lift broke down.

As advised by some people, i have decided to go to the ground floor before the fire drill. I did! with the staffs at the office. The drill started 5 minutes after we got down. ... hahaha... no sweat, just had a nice time at the car park waiting for it to end...

The rest of the songs i berduet dengan Gun, 'Green Green Grass of Home", lagu joget... Keyroll said he didn't know most of the oldies.... It was the first karaoke session for Keyroll. Excited abih dia... overall all of us enjoyed it. Keyroll can't wait for the next session. Too bad, Mukarrami and Azman did not manage to join. Mukarrami had to stay back after work .... bos suruh katanya.... As for Azman,... I've no idea although he said he was not free.... Next time guys!!!

Mines Resort City / Wonderland

Visit to the Mines Shopping Centre on 7 June 2008 was not planned. We decided to drop by after kenduri kahwin my uncle. Haziq was so excited. Somewhere in November 2007, he wanted to go there with arwah abah, but arwah abah was not so sure and he couldn't find the road leading to Mines Shopping Centre since banyak sangat jalan baru.... like mak always said.... "banyak sangat simpang kerenang". We had lunch and took the water ride to South Lake. The whole trip to both North Lake and South Lake was quite expensive, thus, we decided to visit the South Lake only. It pun dah cost us RM67, for 3 adult and 1 child. It was then I realised that there's a stop (if we wish to take the boat) to KTM Komuter. Kecik je jetty ke KTM Komuter and it costs only RM3.00. OK lah tu.... considering if shoppers were to walk from komuter station, jauh jugak...

Bukan Haziq je yang excited. I pun excited jugak. Tak dapat pergi Venice pun tak apalah... Mines Shopping Centre pun dah memadai...

Kenduri

The last few days were such a hectic days for me. I was busy helping my mom with the kenduri which was held on Friday. Lucky thing this time my mom only jemput all the ladies in her housing area..., if not teruk jugaklah nak sediakan makanan. We also had majlis tahlil untuk arwah abah. The final part was doa kesyukuran sebab i dah pass LLM exam. Syukur!

Exam Result

Everyone was so anxious. The Law Centre only released 3 exam results out of 4 papers on Friday. Today, they released the last paper, Property Law. So far my result was so good. This is my highest achievement in my life! I did it better than the CLP and DSLP. I suppose as you gets older, you tend to be more focus on the subject,... i know i did. I'm even happier when all the members of my study group passed, and in fact the rest of the class also passed.

Mukarrami always said that, "kalau boleh I nak kita semua grad sama2, tak syok kalau ada yang tertinggal". I know Sheikh was very worried. I really persuaded him to call Law Centre, but he said, "takut la...". At last, he called them and informed at about 1.10 pm that he had passed the exam. Hmm.... that was a relief!

To all my friends, thanks for being so nice to me although most of the time I was the only lady in the class. I really enjoy the classes.

Bowling

About 11 adults and 7 children joined yesterday's bowling fun day at Alamanda at Putrajaya. There was one new face during the game... A guy by the name "Jack Dawson", now that reminds me of the movie "Titanic"

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Today, after 2 years of classes, exams and books... I finally managed to find time to watch movie. The last movie I went was the 'Star Trek', (Amin said I must have memory lapsed... the last movie was "Chicken Little".... i suppose so...) as usual, I fell asleep, in fact I snore..... hahaha...

Haziq decided that we should watch Narnia, but he changed his mind once we reached Jusco. I insisted on us materialising whatever we have planned. Amin suggested, each of us watch our own favourite show.... haha... we can never leave Haziq alone watching his favourite movie, Superhero.
Lucky thing I did not fall asleep just now, although I almost did!

Result oh Result

I wonder when the examination result will be out... Had a very wonderful year during the whole course of LLM in Business Law (Executive) in IIUM. Suddenly Saturdays are so quiet. No more classes, book or friends.

Shafini's Wedding

Yesterday, 25 May 2008 was Shafini's wedding. Teoh, Gun, Meor, Afnani and I went and attended the reception. Shafini nampak so happy. Too bad yang lain dapat gi reception tu, biasalah kan... masing-masing sibuk, lagipun dah cuti sekolah, ada yang dah balik kampung. Nani.... next time jangan lupa curi sirih tau!!. Mana tau, lepas ni ada jodoh u pulak. Nak cari dalam kelas kita, limited choice kan??!! Yang ada pun tak lepas few tests... hehehe... marah dua-dua Ahmad tu (Sheikh Ahmad & Ahmad Mukarrami...). Teoh, your girl tu tunggu u lah. Tengok semalam...

Thank Goodness It's Friday!

People always have Monday blues.... For me it's Monday blues and Friday blues.... Thank Goodness It's Friday... School holidays starts tomorrow. Hope Haziq did not throw his tantrum.....
