Dinner & Dance?

What is a dinner without a dance? hmm.... I always go to a dinner with dance... well, you can't do that in a dinner organised by IIUM. Nak kena.....

The dinner last night was the shortest one I've ever attended. Normally dinner ended at 11 p.m. or later and follow up with dance. I kind of miss it. It's been a while since the last time I go to a dinner & dance or party for that matter, nowadays, it's only just dinner.

Apart from nice formal dinners organised by the army (during my late father's lifetime), one of the best dinner I've ever attended was organised by the Negeri Sembilan State Bar Committee, where I was also involved in the Social Sub-
Committee organising the event. The patron was the Regent of Negeri Sembilan. The Regent and his lovely wife were the first on the dance floor and later followed by Mr. Edmund Ponniah and myself as dancing partners that night.
I just wonder, when will be the next dinner and dance. I kind of bored if it's just dinner....

24th IIUM Convocation

Yesterday was my convocation. I arrived late at 3.30 pm. The event started much earlier. I thought I could never make it to UIA. It was a massive traffic jam!!!! I've been cursing and cursing throughout the whole journey to UIA.... huh! Lucky thing it was my 4th convocation in my life. Otherwise, I'm really going to cry!!!! Well, everything happen with a reason and for a reason. I'm sure there's always a blessing in disguise for everything that had happened in my life. Like Azman said during the dinner last night, he said I should also feel how to be late comers since I'm always early in class.

Looking back, I always wonder what would happen if I decided to take only 2 subjects per semester instead of 4 subjects. If that was really my decision, i would not have graduated yesterday. I would have to wait until next year. Arrgghhh... too long... it's been two years anyway, studying in IIUM, taking Postgraduate Diploma and Master. It was really a nice and expensive experience throughout.
I enjoyed myself the whole two years studying in IIUM. Although I did it part-timely, I make full use of my time there. In fact, I do miss going to class on Saturdays. Now I have to make myself busy during the weekend.

Collection of Robe

I've managed to collect the robe for the convocation yesterday. It was such a hassle when we had to fill in the Tracer Forms. The university should improvise and have a simpler process. We (Shafini, Gun and I) had coffee with Ben. I was a bit surprise to see Azhar. I thought he was going to collect his robe during the weekday since he is yet to do his clearance. Shafini, Gun, Khairul, Azhar and myself later had satay for lunch.

Preparation for Convocation

Why does the university makes it hard for us to attend the convocation. There are so many things to do prior to the event such as Tracer Forms. I got so fed up with the procedures. Comparatively, it was so easy during my first degree in UK

Happy Birthday Haziq!

Haziq celebrated his 9th birthday on 1st August 2008.

Visit to Kota Kinabalu

It was raining when we reached Kota Kinabalu. It was Friday, 25 July 2008, 10.00 p.m. Haziq was so excited throughout since it was his first time flight experience. I've informed my brother, Helmi that we only to be staying for only 6 days. Well.... it was a short break. It wasn't really a planned vacation. Helmi's wife just give birth and the baby is almost a month's old, and mak couldn't wait to see the newborn. Heidi, that's her name.

For me it was my first experience taking the Air Asia. I don't really like it. I prefer MAS. However the flight fare for MAS is too expensive and we couldn't spend more than what is necessary. For 3 people, we spent about RM800++, which is still reasonable.
The next day we went to Tanjung Aru. It was really windy, I think you can really surf! Haha.... Ombak actually tak cukup besar untuk surfing.

On Sunday, it was quite hot. We went to Karambunai to see the beach. Wow!!! It was beautiful. I was told that the waves are much bigger than the one in Tanjung Aru. I can see a lot of Mat Sallehs... am sure they do surf.... not so much of big wave eh???!!!
The very next day, I went out with mak and Helmi to the market. We dropped by at the Pasar Kraftangan. Spent a lot on souveniers (...is it the correct spelling? "souvenier".... dont bother to check the spelling). Later, I went out with Ar. Mahmud Nazmi and we visited Universiti Malaysia Sabah. I was amazed by the way the students behave.... wow.... the men wear ties to class (just like students in UUM) and they all look so innocent!
Overall it was quite an experience and a nice short holiday!
